Although the projects in Uganda have been in lockdown for the same length of time as the UK, Covid 19 virus has been contained and so far no deaths have been incurred from Covid 19.
The Ssunga Twezimbe Women’s group in Masaka are all in good health and their farming projects are going well. The poultry are laying many eggs each day, and the cow is about to give birth to a calf.
The main difficulty at present is that because of ‘lockdown’ markets have not been happening so selling produce has not been easy. We are in regular contact with our friends in Uganda and SALCET will offer help when and where it is needed, but sadly the proposed visit to Masaka in July will not take place.
