A magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck off the coast of El Salvador and Nicaragua on 14th October 2014. The quake was deep and no reports of major damage were reported. A magnitude 5.1 aftershock followed the quake.
One man was killed in El Salvador by falling power lines. The community of San Carlos are all safe and did not suffer injuries.
